Any frame from The Wait or Against the Light, as a pigment print on ILFORD GALERIE Smooth Pearl, 310gsm. Signed and numbered in an edition of twelve, in three sizes.

Street portraits are not for sale. Strangers is a showcase of the portrait work and nothing in it is offered as a print. Those are strangers who agreed to be photographed, which is not the same as agreeing to have their face sold.

Ordered directly for now: name the frame by its caption line and I come back with price, availability in the edition, and paper advice.

Night, the look, on a real frame
Mono, the conversion behind the archive

The looks this archive is actually built on, packaged for Lightroom and Camera Raw, not a filter pack, but the starting points I work from, with notes on where each one wants to be pushed.

  • Mono, the black-and-white conversion behind three quarters of the work: deep blacks, texture held in the highlight, no lifted-shadow fashion.
  • Night, for sodium, neon and wet asphalt, where the colour of the light is the subject.
  • Contrast, the one behind Against the Light: expose for the opening, let the subject go to a shape.
